Non-Communicable Diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease are on the rise across Africa, silently placing a heavy burden on individuals, families, and health systems. At Medireach Africa, we recognize that these conditions are often fueled not just by genetics, but by social determinants of health, including poverty, poor diets, limited access to health information, inadequate physical activity spaces, and harmful environmental exposures.
Our NCD program focuses on prevention, early detection, and management, while addressing the root social factors that put people at risk.
We work with communities and partners to:
- Raise Awareness – Promoting healthier lifestyles through education on nutrition, physical activity, and wellness.
- Early Screening & Diagnosis – Supporting community-level health checks to detect conditions before they advance.
- Access to Care – Strengthening primary health systems to ensure affordable, continuous treatment and follow-up.
- Integrated Support – Linking patients with psychosocial support, income-generating opportunities, and nutrition programs that improve long-term outcomes.
- Policy Advocacy – Encouraging policies that reduce exposure to risk factors such as tobacco, alcohol, and unhealthy foods.
By combining health services with social support, Medireach Africa works to reduce the growing burden of NCDs and empower communities to live longer, healthier lives.
